Ficus Pumila Minima similar size to those shown in the picture. This plant is a miniature variety of Ficus Pumila that grows slower and stays more compact than it’s larger Ficus cousins (which have a tendancy of taking over). It is a fantastic terrarium or vivarium plant as it loves humidity. Maintains its size well and its varied foliage makes it a very attractive ground cover. Can also be grown as a houseplant.
Care
A relatively easy plant to look after as it is resistant to poor watering habits and should show signs of stress a long time before serious problems come about.
This plant needs a moist but well-draining soil mix that will retain moisture but allow the excess to drain away. Humidity will also help this plant stay fresh and happy so it is advised to mist the plant regularly/group it with other plants/place in a humid room/pebble tray with water, as with other tropical plants.
It also thrives on humidity (although the soil is the most important part by far), so placing next to other plants/in a humid room/with a humidifier or even simply misting them will keep them looking fresh and happy.
